Education and Experience
I am extremely passionate about education as well as making the world a better place. I hold a bachelors degree in Secondary Education. While taking a full class load in university and maintaining a 70% average, I was employed in a part-time customer service position and a retail position, and participated in extra-curricular events and played intramural sports.
I have held positions at a summer camp for children and youth with special needs, the apparel store for my favorite CFL football team (Go Riders!), and at my university helping students adjust to university life as well as maintaining security of the residence buildings. My favorite job I have had is at a greenhouse in her hometown, Salisbury Greenhouse. This is the place I furthered my love of biology and developed a passion for indoor plants and gardening.
I am currently working as a Student Recruiter at MacEwan University in Edmonton, AB.
In my time as a Student Recruiter for MacEwan University I have learned a lot about myself, what students are looking for, marketing, and communication. A big part of my job is communicating with others. I have been able to strengthen my skills in communication, public speaking, and teaching through my work as a recruiter.
My role as a recruiter has also fueled my passions for travel, learning, and new experiences. Over my first year in recruitment, I have travelled over 10,000 kms (6,000 miles), visited over 205 different places, and met thousands of different people along the way. While being away from home counts for 60% of my work responsibilities, I have been able to peruse hobbies, stay fit, and grow my mind while being on the road. With the help of my trusty travel yoga mat, hotel gyms, and ebooks, I have been able bring a little bit of home with me when working away. I am a consistent reader. I have been able to reach and surpass my reading goals in both 2021 and 2022. My goal in 2021 was to read 1 book per month. At the end of the year, I had read 1.5 books per month. In 2022, I had set the goal to read 15 books in a year. At the end of the year, I had read 22 books. I enjoy reading both fiction and person development books.

Personal Development
One of my ongoing goals is to bring positivity and enthusiasm to everything I do. My experience with personal development has helped me to achieve my goals in reinventing myself as a positive person, bringing positivity to those around me, and constantly growing and bettering myself. I have attended various personal development programs such as the 12 week Dale Carnegie Course, 7 years at Eagle University, and Tony Robbins’ UPW seminar. I have had the amazing opportunity to be a team leader at Eagle University and teach others about the benefits of the program. This is a program I believe in with my whole heart.

Education
My biggest driving factor is my passion to educate others. I initially entered my education degree with my sights set on teaching in a high school setting. By the end of my degree, I saw my passion extending outside the classroom and becoming more wide spread into different industries. I am a life long learner who is passionate about teaching others. I am constantly on the look out for books to read, courses to take, and anything that will broaden my point of view. During my travel for work I have been able to continue to learn through online courses and reading. I am interested in the marketing industry and helping others to reach their goals. I am currently on my way to complete a Digital Marketing Certificate.
